A Hobi Elf

​Babe!

I’m not caving. Joshua is dying for an elf on the shelf and I’m staying strong! He decided if we were going to have one in the house it was going to have to be him!  He has been sneaking around the house being his version of a mischievous elf. He is so fun!  😆 I turn around and there he is. Frozen with that smirk. 🥰

   I’m not buying into a real elf on the shelf, but I did surprise him with elf pajamas. His imagination is beautiful. 

He put on the pajamas and plopped down on our doorstep eager to be admitted into the HobiHome. 😍

This morning he woke up and said: “Oh no! It’s Monday.” 😩

I replied: “what do you know about Mondays?” 🤨

He answered: “it’s the worst day of the week. I have to go to school and I know what you’re going to say about that…”

Me: “do tell”

Him: “I only have to go for one hour but it’s still the worst!” 😩

I love that he thinks he’s only doing school for an hour. He is sitting in a classroom for only an hour but the rest of the day he is absorbed in Math at home. He is obsessed with watching and playing Number Blocks. We don’t have any of the toys (Santa is taking care of that) but he makes his own in some very creative ways.

He has his times tables down packed because of number blocks. 👊

He’s doing school in some sort of way all day but at 4pm he gets one hour of iPad time. He considers school is over at that time but then he spends his time watching number blocks, the Chosen or playing either sonic, Minecraft.  

He asked me what I want for Christmas and I said: “Dad” 🥰

He said in his Joshua way: “Well, you know that God can see us and always sees what is going on, so I guess Dad can do that too, so of course he’ll be here for Christmas”

I am so glad he knows that truth. He is right. You will be here for Christmas. I’ll be looking forward to it!!

He is keeping a running “naughty or nice” list. 

You made the good list. (With angel wings😇) Abi had a rough start yesterday but by the end of the day redemption was made. 😆

He keeps asking us if a candy cane is mostly red with white stripes or mostly white with red stripes?! 😆 who thinks of that?
